Be careful with this drug. You're better off with many of the other options on the market. This medication is most commonly used for things like BUBONIC PLAGUE, MALARIA, CHOLERA, and similarly rare and mostly eradicated diseases. There is a high rate of allergic reaction-and if the male takes it, a woman with an allergy WILL react to contact to his sperm.

This is the only antibiotic that works well for me. I'm allergic to penicillins and erythromycins (which is what they give to people who are allergic to penicillins). While this is synthetic and can be used for SO many things, this is the only thing that works when I get sick or have a uterine flare up from PID. It does make your skin sensitive to light and you should take yogurt with it (like all antibiotics) to keep the good bacteria up.

I refuse to take this. I've had it a few times and it gives severe heartburn to the point I can't even sleep
